COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course examines the essence of the doctrines of the Westminster Confession of Faith.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

  • The student will have a clear understanding of the teachings of the Westminster Confession of Faith.

  • The student will know the scriptures indicated to support the doctrines of the Westminster Confession of Faith.

  • The student will do a self-assessment to see if they truly believe the doctrines of the Westminster Confession of Faith.

  • The student will do their own biblical research and their own reflection on the doctrines of the Westminster Confession of Faith.

ASSIGNMENTS FOR THE COURSE

  1. The student will read the Westminster Confession of Faith and Williamson's Commentary and answer all the questions at the end of each chapter. You will read the essential Bible verses for each chapter of the Confession.

  2. The student must listen to the audio lecture (Confessing the Faith - Chad Van Dixhoorn)

  3. Must attend Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 PM - A class on creeds and confessions will be seen, confession lessons will be reviewed, questions will be answered and homework will be reviewed.

  4. Further reading. For credit in the Master's program, 500 pages must be read. You must select from the recommended list below. A report must be written for each book or article, using the MINTS ( View ) format.

  5. Written project. The student must write an essay (8-10 pages for Bachelor's and 15-20 pages for Master's). The student must follow the MINTS instructions to write an essay. The subject should be related to the subjects touched on in the Westminster Confession of Faith (for example: Scripture, the Trinity, the covenant, the eternal decree, justification, sanctification, free will, or the perseverance of the saints) .

  6. The final e amen. The student must take a final exam on the content of the course. .

  • Listening to or having attended the conference 25%

  • Assay 20%

  • Final Exam 15%
